Create a set of rules
AI-generated summary
administrators navigate to Admin > Outbound > Rule Management > Call Rule Sets tab and click Create New, entering a descriptive name with optional contact list and queue selection. Digital rule sets follow a similar process through the Digital Rule Sets tab, with optional contact list selection to enable column name and phone number type display for rule compatibility. Both rule set types support names containing spaces, numbers, and special characters and are subject to a maximum limit of 1,000 rule sets per type, requiring deletion of obsolete sets if this threshold is exceeded.
The system allows users to save rule sets before adding rules or simultaneously save and add rules via the "Save and Add Rules" button, though this option is disabled for users with View and Add permissions only. Genesys Cloud enables comprehensive rule management functionality including creating, editing, reordering, copying, and deleting rule sets, as well as the ability to use a single call rule set with multiple rules as an alternative to multiple call rule sets. Users can manage digital rule sets by deleting obsolete configurations and saving updates to complete new rule set setups. Additional resources include documentation on outbound dialing concepts, rule management , and community support options for users with further questions

If you intend to add only rules that evaluate the value of the telephone number, then you do not need to select a contact list. But in practice, it is common to create rules that evaluate the value of a contact list column, or that examine the type of phone number.
Selecting a contact list allows the application to display column names and phone number types later, when you create rules. Your rules are then compatible with any contact list that contains the same columns. Similarly, if you intend to create wrap-up rules, select a queue so that the application can display a list of wrap-up codes associated with that queue.
If you do not make selections now, you can do so later. - Save a new rule set before you add rules to it.
- To save the rule set without defining rules now, click Save. The system adds the new rule set to the Call Rule Sets view. Later, you can edit the rule set and add rules to it.
