In a future release, Genesys Cloud will enforce required permissions across analytics async aggregate job endpoints, user detail async job endpoints, and the conversation detail query endpoint. Integrations, automated export scripts, and users that access these endpoints must have the corresponding View permission for the specific analytics domain. Requests without the required permission will return an HTTP 403 Forbidden response. This change strengthens access controls for analytics data and applies consistent authorization requirements when users and integrations create, retrieve, or delete analytics jobs and access analytics detail data.

What’s changing

Genesys Cloud will enforce permissions for the following analytics APIs:

  • Async aggregate job endpoints – For /api/v2/analytics/*/aggregates/jobs endpoints, Genesys Cloud will enforce permissions when creating jobs, retrieving job status or results, and deleting jobs. The required permissions are:
    • Conversations – Analytics > Conversation > Aggregate – View
    • Evaluations – Analytics > Evaluation > Aggregate – View
    • Flows – Analytics > Flow > Aggregate – View
    • Journeys – Analytics > Journey > Aggregate – View
    • Surveys – Analytics > Survey > Aggregate – View
    • Task Management – Analytics > Task Management > Aggregate – View
    • Transcripts and speech and text analytics – Analytics > Speech and Text Analytics > Aggregate – View
    • Users – Analytics > User > Aggregate – View
  • User detail async job endpoints – For /api/v2/analytics/users/details/jobs endpoints, Genesys Cloud will enforce permissions when creating jobs, retrieving job status or results, and deleting jobs. These operations require Analytics > User > Detail – View.
  • Conversation detail query endpoint – GET /api/v2/analytics/conversations/details  will require Analytics > Conversation > Detail – View.

Why this matters

Consistent permission enforcement helps prevent unauthorized users and integrations from accessing analytics data or managing another user’s analytics export jobs. It also applies standard role-based access controls consistently across the affected analytics async job and detail operations.

Action required

Before this change takes effect:

  • Review automated export scripts, custom tools, OAuth client credentials integrations, and custom roles that use the affected analytics endpoints.
  • In Admin > Roles& Permissions, verify that users and OAuth clients have the appropriate Analytics > [Domain] > Aggregate – View or Analytics> [Domain] > Detail – View permissions for the analytics data they access.
  • Add any missing permissions before the change takes effect. Requests that do not have the required permissions will return an HTTP 403 Forbidden response after permission enforcement begins.
