Managed hardware phones release notes

Genesys Cloud provides comprehensive firmware management capabilities for multiple hardware phone systems, including AudioCodes, Polycom/Poly Edge E, CCX devices, VVX phones, Soundpoint devices, and RealPresence Trio systems, with documented releases spanning from October 2017 to July 2025. The platform maintains current firmware versions across supported devices through the Phone Home provisioning service for VVX phone management and background software updates that enable continuous phone operation during upgrades. Background software updates allow organizations to deploy firmware upgrades without interrupting user productivity, with the CCX 9.0.0 software package supporting background downloads and installations lasting 30–60 minutes while maintaining full phone usability. This capability ensures backwards compatibility with legacy hardware while supporting modern device requirements. Genesys Cloud supports an extensive range of Poly and AudioCodes IP phone models with various software versions. Current supported versions include VVX phones (versions 5.5.3 through 6.4.7, with version 6.4.7.4477 from July 2025 for newer models and version 5.9.8.5760 from February 2025 for older models), Rove DECT IP Phones (version 8.0.11), Edge B Series IP Phones (version 1.1.0), Soundpoint and Soundstation IP Phones (versions 4.0.10 through 4.0.16, with the latest from January 2026), RealPresence Trio phones (versions 5.2.5 through 7.1.1), and AudioCodes High Definition IP Phones (version 2.2.16). CCX version 9.4.0.1491 is also supported as of July 2026. The platform provides comprehensive resources including phone management documentation, managed phone models and features matrices, VDI configuration guidance, TLS trunk transport protocol specifications, and system requirements. These resources enable organizations to maintain standardized and current device configurations across their communication infrastructure, with each firmware version associated with specific release dates and links to detailed information on manufacturer support pages and software release matrices.
