In a future release, Genesys Cloud will introduce new user permissions that control who can view, change, or remove phone and station associations for themselves or other users. This update adds permission enforcement so administrators can explicitly grant or restrict access, which helps reduce unintended or unauthorized changes to user phone assignments.
What’s changing
- New permissions are introduced to control station association actions for self and others
- Permission checks are enforced on existing and new station-related endpoints
- Only authorized users can view, edit, or disassociate phone and station assignments
New permissions
- telephony > selfStationAssociation > view
- telephony > selfStationAssociation > edit
- telephony > station > disassociateSelf
Note: Roles that already include the conversation > call > add permission will automatically receive the required permissions in a future backfill.
Why this is beneficial
- Helps prevent unauthorized changes to another user’s phone or station
- Gives administrators clearer control over who can manage station associations
- Improves consistency and security for station assignment management
How to prepare
- Review which users or OAuth clients access station-related endpoints
- Update roles to include the required permissions if continued access is needed
