In a future release, Genesys Cloud will update learning assignments to exclude inactive users from user rule evaluations and assignment counts. Previously, the search cluster that powers the user rules service did not filter out inactive users. With this enhancement, Genesys Cloud will filter out inactive users at the search layer. Learning assignments will apply only to active users.

This change results in the following behavior:

  • Assignments apply only to active users – When administrators assign learning modules using user rules, Genesys Cloud will assign them only to users with an active status.
  • More accurate assignment counts – The assigned user count will reflect only users who can actually complete the module.
  • Possible decrease in existing assignment totals – Previously assigned modules can show a lower assigned user count because inactive users will no longer be included.

You can see assignment counts in Performance Management > Employee Engagement > Development and Feedback. The number of users shown for a module can decrease after this release because Genesys Cloud removes inactive users from the total.

This update ensures that learning assignments and reporting accurately reflect active users who can complete assigned content, but does not change how lifecycle status works.
