Genesys Cloud – Deprecation: Salesforce data action username and password credential type

On the effective date, Genesys Cloud will deprecate the Salesforce (legacy) credential type, which uses the OAuth Username-Password Flow for Salesforce data actions integrations. Customers must migrate their existing Salesforce data actions integrations to the new credential type, Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow), which uses OAuth 2.0 client credentials.

Salesforce is deprecating the OAuth Username-Password Flow. To ensure that Salesforce data actions continue to perform successfully, Genesys Cloud provides the credential type, Salesforce OAuth Client Credential Flow, that uses OAuth 2.0 client credentials instead of a username, password, and security token.

What’s changing

• Salesforce data actions integrations include the new credential type Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow).
• Customers must use the Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow) credential type for any new Salesforce data actions integrations.
• Existing Salesforce data actions integrations must be migrated and updated to the Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow) credential type.

Migrate the existing Salesforce data actions integrations to use the Salesforce (OAuth Client Credential Flow) credential type.
